Reviews of Hartke Model 5000 Bass Amplifier Head Feature: It abounds with features to taylor your tone. The compressor isn't really that great though. Quality: This thing is rugged. I have hauled it everywhere and it still plays very reliably. Mine is about 5 years old now and it still has the orginal preamp tube! The power LED keeps coming out of the hole so I finally had to superglue it in... Value: I think that one could get a better amp head for about the same price. Desirability: It's functional. Sound: The fan makes it too noisy to record with, and in quiter situations you must make sure to turn it off before leaving it. Support: I had to contact them once because I punched a hole in one of my speakers... I contacted them by email and they responded within a day or two. Overall: Overall, I have been pleased with it. It has never failed me and I have always had a tone I was happy with (maybe not my dream tone.)
