Reviews of QSC RMX2450 Power Amplifier 1200 Watts
Sound: I have owned an RMX 2450 for the past 3 years and I ran it at 2 ohms with my 4 Peavey SP 118 subs--(that's four 18 inch black widow speakers). Each of the Black Widows are 4 ohms. This translates into a 2 ohm load on each side of the amp. I have run it hard and it never distorted. However, I bought another RMX 2450. I ran an xlr cable from the cross over into one RMX 2450 and I use a jumper from side 1 to side 2 on this amp. Ok, I do the same thing with the other RMX 2450 amp, except this is from the other side of the cross over using an xlr cable and using a jumper as decribed above. Ok, both amps are running at a cool 4 ohms on each of their sides. The sound is better. It's tighter and punchier--a pleasant surprise and a definite improvement. I think it may have something to do with a better damping factor at 4 ohms as opposed to 2 ohms.
