Reviews of Seymour Duncan SJB3 Quarter Pound Jazz Bass Pickup
Feature: Comes with a ncie pickup cover and hardware. Unfortunately, it didnt come with a piece of sponge, etc to support the magent inside the guitar, so I had to peel it off my old pickups. Should be included.
Quality: Very nicely made, but the cover had to be forced past the pickguard, so a little filing was needed.
Value: Price should be knocked down maybe just a little, considering that in my experience with it, it sounds the same as standard stock american fender pickups.
Desirability: The "sex appeal" was great, I heard a lot of great reveiws, but unfortunately in my experience they sound no different than standard stock american fender pickups.
Sound: I baught this pickup along with the matching precision pickup to put in my Fender deluxe. Unfortunately, my worst fears were confirmed: they sound almost exactly alike. This pickup I'm sure is great for anyone with a cheap Squier, or foreign-made Fender, but, if you have American Fender electronics in your bass, this pickup will sound the same, guarenteed. The only problem now is that I'm stuck with it because of zZounds return policy on guitar parts. Buy with caution.
Support: Never had to deal with thwe company, though I'm sure service is great.
Overall: I doubt I'll ever buy pickups other than these.
