Reviews of Tascam US224 Digital Audio Workstation Controller/USB Interface Quality: Made mostly of plastic so I'm really careful unplugging/plugging cables so as not to crack anything. Sound: I was a little disappointed in how harsh the sound was when recording direct, in particular vocals and acoustic guitar. You'll need some sort of pre- to warm it up. I'm using a 10 year old Digitech RP1 effects pedal, even on vocals, which makes a big difference. Support: Never had to deal with support. Overall: Overall, a great buy! Currently using it on a P4 2.4Ghz PC with WinXp. Make sure you follow the WinXP tweaking guidelines in the PDF on the CD.
