Reviews of Yamaha 61-Key MOTIF Music Production Synthesizer Feature: Haven't tried em so feel my opinion isn't there. Quality: Yamaha always makes a solid product. Value: I think Korg may have more sounds, yet there is something more meaty to me about the Yamaha sound i am prejiduce to. Sound: I Like the sounds, yet wish there were more. I am probably just greedy in that respect. I previously owned the sy77 and found many many sounds good be loaded off 3.5 floppys. I guess in this case Yamaha felt the sampling would take care of this area and to be honest i have not yet sampled. I love performance mode and found better mixes on my own. In other words, i felt some of the presets were nutty in some cases and well short of their potential. Maybe i feel that way because i'm not into rap. For example i liked 70s hero but it was much better with added bass and drums and a bit more reverb. Overall: Performance mode is genius, though presets could be better produced. Mixing is great and easy to use realtime. Seems capible of quite a lot, and being a novice i think there is more for me to learn.
